store managers only have five PTO days a year and ten PTO days after five years. No paid holidays you must work all holidays. No additional days off you must work 45+ hours week
They wanted to appear as if it was an amazing environment with great benefits. Pay was less than the stores in our area. The discounts are few and far between. Yet, we were asked to be wear product "blinged out" but had to buy at retail price. Was harassed by big bad Leah for not wearing enough, on the first day I met her. Wow, just wow.
They give you very minimal time off, and always have black out dates so you can never truly have a vacation or spend time with family! You must plan your life around them, and there is no give and take. You must work holidays but do not get holiday pay or any incentives. Impossible to bonus! They make payroll so tight and goals so high that you are set up for failure.
Most of the perks depend on the mood of the owner and if she likes you or not. You can never count on a day off or family time, Just when you are ready for your vacation you are informed that you are either fired or that you are being punished for some reason and your are on probation, so no vacation for you.
What benefits? Heck, the only benefit was 20% off merchandise, and we didn't get paid enough to afford 80% of the price of the product in that store. And yet, they strongly emphasized that we buy and wear the jewelry...how are we supposed to do that?
One of the best benefits about working at Artsy Abode is the continuing education and training that is provided. Managers and key staff are taken to many conferences and vendor presentations where we are trained on product knowledge and merchandising techniques. In the past few years I have been fortunate enough to go to Miami, the Bahamas, Indiana and Atlanta to attend amazing informative meetings. Huge Perk!
I was part time so I had no benefits.
They worked you the max part time hours, and even if you went over 40 you still were not offered full time.
It is always changing and the owners are willing to work with you and what you need because it is a smaller private company.
