They offer a 403(b) option in addition to the automatic contributions you make to the teacher retirement system of Georgia.
You are limited in what you can contribute to the State's Teachers Retirement System.
Retirement plan is with TRS
Best in the state, in my opinion.
TRS pension earns 4.5% annually after two years on board; TRS pension vested after ten years; TRS pension retirement after 30 years of creditable service or reaching age 60; TRS pension reduced for early retirement after 25 years of creditable service; Supplemental plans include 403b and 457
Horrible Retirement setup. You cannot borrow against it at anytime even during extreme emergencies. You have to no longer be an employee to gain access to your hard earned monies.
APS will match your pension once you have been vested--after 10 years.
If you like TRS then this is the company for you but definitely not a 401K got to do that yourself.
