I have been in my current position for 5 yrs with minimal pay increases despite consistent praise from management for being one of the strongest in our department. I hold specialty certifications, staff in ICU and ED, am part of several hospital committees, and regularly perform formulary reviews/MUEs/guideline updates. I recently found out that a new hire with no experience was brought in at a higher hourly rate than myself and several other female staff. Suggestions on steps to take with mgmt?
How would you handle not getting a lunch break when you are a salaried employee treating patients for 40 hours a week? I don’t get documentation time either, but all notes are to be completed the same day. Some of us have reached out to HR and we’re told to discuss it with the regional director, but the regional director says we’d have to come in early or leave late to block out a lunch break. My commute is an hour each way, so I’d prefer not to make my day any longer. Advice?
I’ve been a registered nurse for about four years (ambulatory care & I loved it but felt like I missed something not being inpatient) and been a little lost. This past year has been terrible w/ jobs & have had about 5 some contracted some just so awful the stories would blow your hair back & I had to walk out. Finally, I decided to take a telemetry inpatient nurse job & I’ve been there a month & just got another job back in ambulatory. Can some one please give me advice of what I should do.

Very solid overall benefits package
Best - The 401k match is decent. Put in 4%, they'll put in 3%. Worst - If you have dependents (as in, more than just a spouse, but you have kids too), the cost of the premium is expensive.
Best thing is Vacation Days and Flex Time during the summer
