They dont' encourage taking it. unless it is for maternity leave.

Currently the company have Family Medical Leave that covers any compensation and the employee is on leave without pay.
They outsourced the FMLA program to the insurance company they used. It was difficult to use at best.
The family medical leave was a great advantage for folks who needed help with sick family members.
