Best thing was health and dental insurance. I chose the BCBS PPO option and it covered everything with a very low deductible and co-pays. Worst part was vision insurance, barely useful for me as I need both contacts and frames plus have low vision and astigmatism in both eyes.
Several types of health insurance offered. There is general, vision, and dental. There are also different rates for your 401k. Overall, it was okay as a package, but it wasn't spectacular.
Health Insurance package is excellent and mostly paid by employer, retirement package is also good (State of Maryland retirement system), have option to participate in 403 B plans in addition to regular retirement package
Great pay growth opportunities. Great health insurance. Great retirement plan options. Set vacation times--keep in mind that teachers get a lot of time off (you can choose 10-month pay or 12-month pay), but the time off teachers receive is actually more like comp time due to the extreme overtime hours.
Insurance, pension, vacation, EAP, tuition assistance
Excellent choices for healthcare including dental and prescriptions
Time off : Holidays, snow, summer
Outstanding health insurance options for full time employees.
Great optical and dental coverage, and a range of reasonably priced health plans. There are also great retirement packages available, and fairly strong supplementary benefit packages are offered to us by companies independent from the district.
Health insurance is cheap! You get amazing care, any type of way, at very little cost. I paid a $10 copay for a significant and complicated surgery. Sick leave accrues very fast and you don't lose it. Plus, participation in the "sick bank" helps you use other people's days (donated). 403(b) does not get matching donations.
