My location started off not being very good at training new employees before throwing them out on the floor, but they're trying to change that and it seems to be working.
The job training was online and rarely had anything to do with everyday operations. It would outline company mottos like "the Wow factor" and give you fake-sounding scripts. I took my inter-department training in my own hands and asked the heads of each department for help (I had to ask around, because I was not told anyone's job when I started working there).
