I've been with Base2 a number of years and the benefits offerings are quite good these days, and continue get a little bit better every year. Dealing with HR about benefits or filing paperwork/receipts tends to be easy and friendly. Highlights: - 401k with Fidelity, 4% effective match, no fees, moderate diversity of funds but includes several good passive index funds with low expenses. - 3 weeks vacation, 10 sick days, 10 paid holidays. Vacation increases to 4 weeks after 5 years. - Several health insurance options to choose from, a couple of traditional PPOs as well as a HSA-qualifying HDHP. Premium coverage for employee is good, no cost regardless of plan. If you choose the HDHP you get some company money into your HSA. Costs go up a bit for family coverage, but not too bad. No more than a couple of hundred bucks per month. - Health Reimbursement Arrangement for up to $1800 for almost any general vision and dental expenses every year, this is a nice one! - FSA & Limited FSA. Can make use of an FSA if you need, including a limited Vision/Dental FSA that is compatible with HSA accounts. - Okay vision/dental insurance. It's unfortunately common for these plans to be pretty lackluster. Do the math for yourself and decide what's worth it. I use the vision but skip the dental. Be sure to account for the aforementioned HRA or FSA money. - Annual profit sharing. Obviously not guaranteed based on business performance and whatnot, and the rules and math are a little hard to decipher, but business has been good and the profit share bonus has consistently been 4-5k per year. Not a huge amount of money, but still a nice chunk of change at the end of the year. - Utilization bonus. If you end up having to work a lot of billable hours there is a bonus scheme to pay extra some "overtime" (but not in the legal time-and-a-half sense of the word). Most of the time you shouldn't need to work crazy hours though. Other notable fringe benefits: - Parking or transit pass depending on your situation - Quiet and comfortable office stocked with snacks, drinks, coffee/espresso, etc. *if* you work out of the office, but client sites vary - High quality tech equipment and support, don't be afraid to ask for what you need
The best part of our benefits package is the HRA -- reimbursement directly from the company up to $1600/year for dental & vision expenses.
Its getting better with each year!
Base2 just keeps improving the benefits. How often do you hear that? Recently we received an additional holiday (President's day) and the company continues to absorb the majority of the benefit cost increases. Best of all, if you participate in the HSA they contribute 3750.00 a year. That almost covers the cost of the deductible.
Health insurance plans are very average.
Excellent health benefits and 401K package; plus the dental is solid!
Base2 works hard to maximize benefits while minimizing cost to the employee.
Best perks I have been offered from a company. 401K matching, reasonable amount of paid time-off and sick leave, etc. Office is always stocked with snacks and drinks. WONDERFUL espresso machine as well.
The benefits package at Base2 is generally good, but not remarkable. It has been steadily improving over the past several years, but still does not stand out as especially competitive in the software/technology industry.
For a small company they do a pretty good job giving employees options for healthcare. There are stipends to offset some of the out of pocket costs for dental and vision. 3 weeks of vacation and 2 weeks of sick time is pretty good too.
List based on reports from current and former employees. It may not be complete.
