The discount was always a great thing to have. It was also good learning about all the new products that would come out and being able to learn how to use different products as to better assist customers.
Health care coverage was offered from day one. There are three different levels of health care coverage offered. I found the premiums to be high for family coverage, even on the high deductible plan. Prescription coverage was almost non-existent and I found going outside of the company plan to Good RX to be much more reasonable . The vacation and personal days are the absolute minimum a company could offer and claim to have a vacation package. The standard package is 1 week during the 1st year, although I was offered two, and time off would not increase to three weeks until one has been with the company 7 years. One would need to be employed 14 years to reach the top tier offered, which is 4 weeks. There a 2 paid personal days and 6 paid holidays, however working on the holiday was the norm, including Thanksgiving day. 401K is an option also available on day one, however, Bass Pro does not contribute until after 1 year of employment. The employee discount was exceptional, 45% off all Bass Pro and Cabelas branded merchandise and 15% off all other at both Bass Pro Shops and Cabelas locations.
star employee program, $10 gift card for every good review online. Discounts 40% on bass pro brands.
It was a very good company
Great Options-affordable cost for the associate!
Best thing is the house brand discounts, 40% off of Bass Pro, Offshore Angler, Redhead, XPS, White River Fly Shop
I can not say anything bad about there benefit package.
Discount is kinda nice... and there is 3.5 like alot of places have now
I do not utilize the insurance but it was available. There is an employee discount on store brands at both Cabelas and Bass Pro and then a smaller discount percentage on other brands. No discount on ammo, guns, electronics though. There is also an outside site where you can learn about products and earn deep discounts on items. I started the day before Thanksgiving and several days around the store had catered meals, so much so that I took trays of food home. They also gave everyone a holiday glazed ham. if the employee did not want it they were able to sign off for them to be donated to a local organization for needy families. I cannot speak to vacation or 401k as I am a seasonal employee. They have an great program where employees donate money from their paychecks that go into a fund that is for emergencies. Recently, it was used by an employee who lost their home in a fire. It is a great way to help each other.
Great discounts on outdoors supplies and bass pro related house brands. Marquee items like boats, rv’s, atv’s have no discount. You can also get reward points with discounts.
