Do you think it is appropriate to have MBAs/people with a business background in high level leadership positions in healthcare? I personally find that it sets the wrong tone of putting profit before care.

Looking to transition to a new career. Newly empty nester with tons of experience in healthcare. Worked in clinical for the last 10 years, Just started working in Administration about a year ago and I enjoy it, but I feel like I want to transition down another path. I’m currently in Patient Access at a hospital, I like this role but the money is not sufficient for what I feel it should be. I don’t know what to do. Any suggestions?

I recently started a job in a small medical office. The doctor is cheap, rude, demanding, condescending, and has unrealistic expectations. The receptionist is a miserable, ticking , tourettes time bomb. The doctor announced that she wanted to take 8 of us to a restaurant Thursday night. I'd rather whistle through 4 unanesthetized route canals! I have no desire to socialize with these soul-less, unconscionable maggots. We don't even get paid for one holiday. How do I get out of this??
