Bemis offers a great co-op program that allows you to work full-time for about 6 months while still in school. They do offer tuition reimbursement as a benefit, which is great for students who still need to receive college credit for the course to stay on-track for graduation!
Over the last few years quality and value has declined. While the company as a whole pushes toward a "high performance culture", HR has moved toward mediocrity. The employee educational assistance program, while one does exist, is a complete joke.
Competitive benefits package and vacation
Used to have a pension, company axed it. Everything pretty standard now.
The package was very robust and offered good coverage especially the short term disability that was paid for by the company.
- no vision package - covers a lot of my bills especially with my husband having type 1 diabetes - it's more expensive to add a spouse than children to plan - you can get money off by doing the physical check up
The employee share of the health insurance was reasonable and the coverage was very good.
The best thing about the benefits package is the number of years (15) required to get to 4 weeks vacation.
Matching funds for the 401K
401k package is pretty good. Three years to get vested but they include co-op stints to determine when your official start fdate began.
