Everybody I k ow has had no problems you glong on LOA it seems like a great benefit
This may vary from state to state, but part timers get no paid leave where I am--you're subject to the requirements of FMLA. 1250 hours in the last year and employed for at least a year in a location with more than 50 employees within a given radius. It's a max of 12 weeks unpaid and you can start two weeks before your due date. Beware though, if your baby isn't born exactly by that due date you will need a note from your doctor to "explain why you had to start leave X number of days before the two week window before birth." Most hospitals won't even induce you until around 10 days after your due date. HR is not exactly shy about it either--I had three different people contact me by 2 weeks postpartum, and I told all three the same thing. Baby was late. I had to get the pediatrician to sign it because OB wouldn't until my 6 week PP visit and that was after the cutoff for the timeline HR required. No idea on paternity leave, but the experience I had as a new mother was pretty disappointing.
BBY offers paid maternity leave but not paid for paternity at this time.
Maternity leave was great. I received short term disability. I am not aware of a paternity leave benefit in place.
All you really have to do is fill out a form in the system which will go through to the corporate and then you are granted your weeks off
Maternity is offered, males will need to use paid time off.
8 weeks at 80% of salary
will pay you a years worth of leave
Bit of some issues connecting to Corporate HR on this policy.
Not the greatest. They will give you the time off, but you better hope you have vacation time and sick time banked so you get paid during that time. I believe they only gave you 6 weeks.
