Company really cares about employees.
Big 5 simply has the best healthcare plan I've ever seen before or since. My family and I have a variety of health issues, so a good health plan was a must. This plan simply blew all others out of the water. When I was there, there was no deductible, and the co-pays were very manageable. After you have worked there full time for over a year, you can step down to part time and still maintain benefits, so long as you work enough to stay on each payroll period. Many employees have stayed with Big 5 for many years, simply because of how amazing the benefits are.
Health Insurance could be better. Lower co pays. Management discount should be the same as the DC employees discount.
There weren't any benefits for anyone who isn't a manager. Scheduling time off was easy, but it would not be paid, despite how long you've been there. Employee discount wasn't okay.
Full time receives the usual health insurance, vacation, PT, 401k plan. Part timers only get company discounts.
The health insurance is wonderful and the company pays for 90% of total insurance costs I pay less than $30 a paycheck
Health, vision, dental, Life and Accidental Death Insurance, and long term Disability insurance.
