Typical benefits for a law firm in the DC area.
Health insurance, 401k, maternity leave and EAP
Too expensive and just the basics
The health insurance is costly and doesnt offer much at a discounted rate
No premium for single employees, expensive for spouses or families. Deductibles were high but once met, maintenance prescriptions were covered 100%.
Firm does not match contributions to 401(k).
401K - does not match and profit sharing is a joke.
They are awful. They use Empire BCBS. The deductibles and co-pays are high and don't cover much. The majority of their discounts are New York based and can't be used for other offices. They do have cell phone discounts, but most places offer this. They use Fidelity for 401k, which is not the best investment company. They offer profit sharing after 2 years of employment. They do not honor Veterans Day, Good Friday or Columbus Day. They Combine their Sick, Vacation and Floating Holidays together as PTO and only offer 18 days a year. They have a gym that's the size of a closet. 4 people will over crowd the room.
The health insurance was expensive to insure the family, but the coverage was excellent.
