They seem to be competitive for salary. The remaining benefits are also very competitive. They provide health, dental, etc. They are also going to start to offer bonuses, but were not yet started when I interviewed. They also have a 401k plan and it is never to early to start that.
There’s 401k matching up to 4% but benefits are expensive for what you get. You get better packages at other tech companies in the city
Best: Great overall benefits and amount of benefits Worst: Limited Life Insurance buy-up and health insurance is targeted for single males (I have a family and it's expensive)
Benefits package was a work in progress. But, the package was a good one. Good health coverage for the group.
I was an intern so I did not have a benefit package. N/A
The benefit package shows how much the owner and managers value the employees. For example, we get up to 10 days bereavement where most other companies offer 3-5 days for immediate family members. We get one paid bereavement leave for the death of a pet. Paid time off is generous and we are strongly encouraged to use our leave to maintain a work life balance.
Health insurance is honestly pretty good, dental about the same. Haven't used any of the others, but I believe it's all just as good. Benefits just a a big revamp recently (in a good way), so I haven't had a chance to really explore everything. Still, I feel taken care of and am I'm quite happy with what we have. Not giving 5 stars because there are other places you could go in Charleston that give better benefits (like MUSC) so that sets the standard for 5 stars. That being said, I never hear any complaints about what we already have (and we're a group that really enjoys complaining). I don't expect that a company like Blue Acorn could match benefits from a place like MUSC. Honestly quite happy.
