We encourage employees to maintain a sensible work-life balance. In support of this, Blue Coat provides all full-time employees with paid vacation. Vacation is earned based on years of service.
Just talk to your manager and take vacation any time. Managers never stops or asks anyone to reschedule any vacation. Always approved.
Vwey generous paid time off and for director level upward there is no limti. For those with accrued time off, it can be cashed in if needed
For Director-level employees and above, there is no vacation accrual. On the surface, this "take it when you need it" approach looks great. However, for long-tenured folks the standard accrual rate would have you accruing 5+ weeks of vacation time per year. Truth be told, people may actually take half of that but don't get to cash out the balance. This approach penalizes employees and works to Blue Coat's favor.
What an excellent company. I had a death when I first started and had to take time off. They offer 5 days grievance right out the gate. What a caring company.
