The best thing about the benefit package hands down is the affordable, good coverage health insurance
Health, Dental, Eye, Life insurance if you are full-time (considered 32 hours or more a week, which is hard to get as a sales associate) PS. Notable positive and awesome favorable fact for Books-A-Million - before Marriage Equality, same sex couples were able to get their significant other on their insurance - props to them for that, definitely a very cool thing. Free book checkout, 30% discount at Books-A-Million/2nd & Charles/Yogurt Mountain. After 1 year you get a week vacation, 2 years = 2 weeks. 5years = 3 weeks. 7 years = 4 weeks.
You do get paid vacation once you have worked full time for 1 year. Management receives bonus' BUT if you do not hit the minimum requirements the company sets you get nothing. You can set up a 401k after 1 year at, I believe, full time.
discount on merchandise was 30%
As a sales associate, there were no real benefits besides a minor SPIFF and it's almost impossible to move up in the company. I recieved one raise in the 2 years I worked for the company, which I promptly lost when I transferred stores.
They offer health insurance to their employees
There is not a benefit package for book seller
Co-workers, Seriously they are the very best part of working here, There are some really great people here. Oh that and free popcorn.
No benefits! Only benefit was discount on merchandise and even that was small.
