Benefits were standard for the industry.
Health insurance has high deductible and very expensive if you have family members to add on. Dental insurance has high deductible and limited benefits, unless you choose one of the few dentists it offers and, even then, is only 50%. Vision is pretty good, but again, you have to choose one of their very limited providers, otherwise not even worth the cost. 401(k) contributions are minimal at best compared to other firms. Year end bonus is the same for everyone, regardless of how hard, or how little, work is actually done. Raises are temperamental, meaning it depends on how they feel about you on that specific date, rather than what you have done over the past year. Vacation is fair, but you are only allowed to take a few days at a time, if it is convenient, and you are expected to be available to work even then. Sick days are barely tolerated even with a doctor's note of severe health issue. And you WILL hear about it, even then!
This firm likes to perpetuate that it uses “Rambo litigation” tactics to advocate for its clients. Unclear what that means, except I can say that much like the “Rambo” film franchise, Brewer is trapped in the 1980s and no longer relevant. The benefits are nonexistent. The person who wrote about the fact that there is health insurance is probably the Chief of Staff, who talks openly about how she writes fake reviews on here all the time. Yes, there is health insurance because this is the US and employers pay for their employees’ health insurance. But of course Brewer managed to find the cheapest/worst/most BS health plan around. Other benefits. Let’s see...there is a sign in sheet you’re required to sign every morning to prove that you’ve arrived before 9am. I guess a benefit would be that there isn’t a sign out sheet (yet)? Or hidden cameras in the hallways and individual offices (that we know of)?
Free tap water. A coffee pot. Pretzels. Substandard health insurance. Fiji water and strawberries (managing partner only). Foot rubs (managing partner only).
Great benefits package. You get full medical, dental, and everything else. BENEFITS START THE DAY YOU START -- no waiting period! We also have a gym!
Although the firm does pay for health insurance, it is the worst insurance I've ever received in my entire career. They have a high deductible plan ($2,500 for a single person).
