Generous healthcare and dependent care benefits. Odd structure to PTO/holidays.
The benefits package at BAM is very good. The health insurance is affordable and a cap is made on the percentage you contribute (based on salary). They also have a pension plan, with vesting at 5 years. This is a major plus! Also, vision, dental, life insurance, 401K, commuter and caregiver ($5K) cost pre-tax benefits, life insurance as well. A solid package at very fair premium.
Comprehensive and thoughtful. New paid maternity/paternity/caregiver leave is a great new policy. Love having PTO rather than sick days and vacation days. I can take time as I need it, no questions asked.
The benefits packages provide a range of options that can work for anyone, and they host multiple sessions with information. It's pretty incredible that BAM provides a pension to vested employees (5 years) which is less and less common in NYC. Vacation accruals are great especially once you've worked at BAM several years and get more time each year, although the sick policy is a little annoying because it comes from the same time off pool unless you are seriously ill and can provide a doctor's note. It's also great getting the staff perks of free shows and movies (based on availability, but I have only once been turned away from a show).
The health care benefit employee contributions are capped at 4 or 6% of your salary which makes them very reasonable with a wide range of in-network providers and most standard tests covered.
Best is that you get free tickets to the performances.
I did not get a benefits package (other than free ticket and networking opportunities) as a summer intern.
