The best part of Brown is its welcoming and friendly working environment. Everyone around you is supportive and chill and happy. Brown has also passed the unionization.
Lots of time off (22 days vacation for salaried non-union and a floating holiday + most federal holidays + winter break between Christmas and New Years) and good health insurance through Blue Cross Blue Sheila of R.I.
Health insurance is included, Sports complex access, late night shuttles, good compensation
I do not receive benefits as a TA
Salary is somewhat lower compared to other places, but the benefits make up for it in my opinion.
401K has 8% matched and become fully vested after 5 years employment.
All standard benefits are included: healthcare, dental, life, retirement. Though none of them are paid in full by Brown, they're generously subsidized. Standard 2 weeks of paid vacation per year, accrued monthly, plus 1 week off between Christmas and New Years.
I'm not sure if there is a negative aspect for the benefits at Brown. You'll be hard pressed to find better benefits elsewhere. Vacation and Sick time is abundant. Medical and retirement plans are fantastic. There are even more perks beyond that.
Includes a very helpful health insurance and a dental insurance, together with the university health services, all of which make the medical services very affordable.
Very good health, dental and vision, but it's expensive, even after the reimbursement every month (which you are taxed).
