Health Insurance could be better... especially family health insurance if we're looking to maintain long-time employees.
Best: Health Insurance, 401 K, Gym, Free parking Worst: Nothing that makes working there special or different that any other company.
CGI offers all the usual benefits and perks, and more (like free parking, free coffee, lunches, breakfasts, afternoons on the company boat, and always has an open ear to providing hardship loans and other requests of employees.
The benefits here are pretty good. Insurance isn't the cheapest in the world, but I think that's the case everywhere. Vision and Dental are very inexpensive and very good, however. We get a lot of other perks for working here, though. Things like annual chili cook-offs, beer-making competitions, holiday parties, summer parties, trips on the CEO's yacht, regular happy hours, free lunches once a month, and more.
Pretty great benefits and perks. They really appreciate their employees with fun perks and parties every so often.
The cost for health benefits weren't too bad, as I fall under the single category. However, I heard for families it was really high. I have to admit, at my new job I get way more coverage for less money. I was promised bonuses but never received them. It was one excuse after another why I hadn't or wouldn't be receiving it. Same with job training. I was told I could receive training but every time I approached my supervisor regarding it, more excuses why I couldn't do it. When they finally did plan some training it was completely useless. Vacation time isn't too bad (As a newbie you get a little over 2 weeks) and my supervisor was flexible with the time we needed off. Meaning, you have the freedom to take time off without using vacation, if you made it up somewhere else in the week. I heard people on the sales team have it worse.
What benefits? At CGI there is not such thing. I paid $600 a month for health insurance!! They make barley any contribution so that the ceo can buy million dollar cars and yachts. You have to work there 7 years just to get 3 weeks paid vacation They claim to match 401k but I don't believe that since they shuffle money around and do not put the contribution directly into your 401k. They make it so that they collect the interest so that you don't!! That place is a disgrace
Terrible benefits package when I was there. Non-existent time off and the health care was incredibly expensive for a terrible high deductible plan. I've since moved on from this company (thankfully) and now receive an actual, real benefit package. That perspective allows you to see how poorly CGI's benefits are. I pay about 1/4th per paycheck now for my premium than when I was here for a significantly better plan. Twice as much paid time off. Keep this in mind if you're considering this company. Benefits are not good.
The vacation time off was sufficient. I don't remember if they matched 401k or not.
