Benefits and 13 holidays are awesome. My 10 years have been most comfortaBLE
Medical plans are very expensive compared to private. Single rider you still need to pay a good portion instead of 1.5%.
Good benefit is 21 days of sick leave and vacations. Bad benefit is the medical.
The idea of a pension is wonderful, however the inability to adjust the mandatory amount that is taken out of your pay is a tough pill to swallow when pay already doesn't equate cost of living in the islands. You will wonder how am I making more than a previous private sector job but taking home a good chunk less?
No 401k available. High employee contribution premium payment for medical/dental/vision insurance coverages.
21 days vacation, 21 sick leave, 13 days holidays (14 days in election year). Wish Med/Dental/Drug premium could be cheaper.
vacation and sick leave accrual
Pros: - 21 days vacation - 21 days sick leave - 13 days paid vacation (14 on election year) Cons: - Low pay - Moral issues especially with management
21 Days Sick/Vacation you can accrue every year. When you reach 90 days of vacation you're forced to take vacation
Great benefits! 21 days vacation and 21 days sick leave per year. Pension plan and healthcare benefits after vesting. One bad part of benefits package is that employees must pay half of their medical insurance premium. Salaries are also considerably lower than private sector.
