Great retirements. Good money. Fun place to work
Students get paid vacation after completing 900 work hours, paid sick days, "personal development" days
Overall I think the benefits at DWR are equal to or better than a lot of other government jobs.
You get the best health insurance (although you have to wait a year for the good dental), and they give you pension. On top of giving a percentage to your 401k.
+ Pension + Retiree healthcare - Paid time off rules restrictive - Vacation requests often denied for inconsequential project tasks - Healthcare options very expensive (about equal to what's on the normal marketplace) - Food is very expensive around downtown Sacramento
List based on reports from current and former employees. It may not be complete.
