Caltrans has a great pension program and offer an array of health care benefit options. Also, has a strong union for its engineers.
Best: medical, PERS, etc. Worst: small paycheck after taxes. Caltrans employees consistently complain about low wages and favoritism.
Being a student assistant was easy because of the flexible hours.
Best benefit is family coverage & many plan options. Worst thing regarding med benefits Not all options work for all- medical some providers are troublesome
Excellent healthcare and benefits package..
No benefits for student assistants. Not even public transportation subsidies. Ironic considering they are looking for ways to promote public transportation... But, you are free to set your schedule.
The CalPERS pension is worthwhile if you plan to stay more than a decade and beyond the age of 55.
Great benefits. Dental and vision plan basic is free
The health and paid leave is unparallel to any private companies, and professional development options are plenty.
Good vacation, sick leave, holidays and retirement package.
