Carbonite offers some pretty cool perks and benefits, including:
"Unlimited time off" yet you never really feel as though you have the freedom to take it.
Unlimited vacation is great depending on the manager. Some managers will push back or make you feel guilty if you need to take time off even if it’s just a day if things are “busy.”
Benefits are fairly broad based. They help contribute to an HSA plan that keeps costs low. Once you meet your deductible you have 100% coverage for medical services except for prescription drugs still have a small copay. There is a PPO option but it’s much more expensive for the average employee’s family.
The insurance options & overall benefit package were decent. The option to work at home would have been an incredibly helpful perk that would have allowed me to stay on after running into some medical issues.
Benefits seem to be getting worse. "Unlimited vacation" is claimed but some managers pressure people not to take that much time off. Same deal about Working From Home. With some teams it's no problem but on other teams people get pressure not to WFH. There's no company contribution for life insurance anymore. You are better off getting your own term policy. Pay and bonus can be decent but promotions are rare except for managers.
The best thing here is the unlimited PTO, but only because it allows me to balance out work/life.
Great benefit suite and the employer pays for a majority of plan cost.
Terrible health insurance, no PPO or kaiser
Carbonite offers unlimited vacation time to exempt employees. Fantastic STD and LTD benefits, too.
Good 401(k). A free breakfast and lunch every week. Flexible PTO and work from home. Healthcare pretty great.
List based on reports from current and former employees. It may not be complete.
