ongoing training and development support for all roles all the time
I did three days of online training and then I was thrown out on the floor. I never shadowed anyone and if I made a mistake I would have no idea and then be yelled at.
VERY POOR. I wasn't trained at all by the extremely incompetent management. I learned practically everything from my coworkers and myself. They never taught me how to make drinks, and I learned how to make drinks on what was literally my last day.
I loved training, my managers were awesome and they let me try tons of new drinks. When promotional drinks come it's considered training at my caribou and at others so you get an excuse to make and try all of them so you know what to recommend to customers.

The best thing is that you get to watch videos of people making the actual drinks. As a visual learner, this was very helpful and you could rewatch the videos multiple times.
In my time at caribou I saw how they are supposed to train someone in: go over paperwork, discuss drink and store standards, teach them the POS, how to maintain back of bar, bar training (which consists of making and tasting every drink on the menu), and everything online for more information on current drinks and coffee. Altogether this sounds like a good process but it was not what I got. My training was paperwork, reading drink recipes, learning the POS while serving customers, and working on bar during a rush with someone else once then all on my own from then on. If I had proper training it would have been a much better experience. I was pretty much just thrown into it.
It was fun. We were able to "make it, taste it" whenever a new product was released. Training was fast and easy.
Not very good training. They throw new people on register, where they know NOTHING about what is in a drink. They should be started on bar, learning what is in all of the drinks. Then once they develop that experience, they can go onto the register and best assist customers with making their perfect drink, and customizations or add-ons that benefit Caribou.
It was very rushed and disorganized. I only had 3 training shifts, and they tried to jam pack everything into those shifts. With newer people lately, however, they have been getting more training.
