Didn't seem to be any professional development; we were supposed to learn everything on our own
The good thing is that you get to do a lot of interesting problems as a grader. The best part though is you get to be exposed to a lot of ingenious ideas from your talented students in the class; students taking this class are highly competitive.

CMU offers a lot of programs to help students grow into the person the want to be. E.g. The Eberly Center for Teaching Excellence, and a strong career center with lifetime support for all alumni.
Career fairs are helpful, although they do not particularly help students with my background as much as they help CS or pure Design students.
The best thing regarding professional development is that you are able to read more learn more from your professors.
