High premiums and co-pays. No transparency for what plans cover. Annual increases in costs expected to be 10% per year.

They keep telling me how the university is paying for it... keep taking money out of my check. I'm not sure they understand that they pay PART of it. I get it... do they?

Health insurance is very expensive, even more so if you opt for anything other than employee only. Health insurance has interesting relationships with area hospitals that you have to be aware of when selecting your preferred insurance. For example, you would want to know details of specific insurance plans to understand where to go if you're injured at your work site. If you select Medical Mutual, and you got injured working at Main Campus, you would pay more if you went to the Case Medical Center emergency room which is on site than if you drove a little down the street to Cleveland Clinic. This is because Medical Mutual does not have as beneficial agreements in place with University Hospitals/Case Medical Center as it does with Cleveland Clinic.
