Pro- Comprehensive Benefit Plan where cost is dependent upon how much you make based upon thresholds. Those that make over a certain amount must pay more.

As graduate students we get basic health insurance (but you must go through health services first). There is no dental or vision insurance. Time off is flexible but unfortunately it depends on your adviser so some people can easily take time off, while others have to fight for it.

The health insurance provided for the postdoctoral scholars is a disgrace, they changed from a reputable company to healthspan. They tried to get a cheap insurance company and it reflects in the insurance. Postdoctoral scholars aren't treated very well. No pre-tax benefits allowed such as parking or publuc transport.
