best things 401K, vacation, time off. Worst things costly health care
401K, Employee discounts, Profit sharing
Benefits are pretty solid. 401k matches 100% up to 6% of salary + an extra 3-5% match depending on age and years of service. PTO is average - 10-20 days depending on years of service. However, you get all major holidays plus the week between Christmas and New Years in addition to PTO. Sick days are unlimited as long as you don't abuse it.
Solid health insurance, recent addition of VSP, profit sharing (but not helpful when sales are down year over year), education assistance, matching 401k up to 6%, holidays, floating holiday, personal days, more flexible schedule than other companies worked for
Overall, company benefits are very good. With recent cost reductions, benefits are getting streamlined, but remain an attractive aspect of Caterpillar.
