The best part of being an SA is the opportunity to assist with a class that you already took and did well in with the benefit of being paid for it. The worst part is that you can only be paid for up to 6 hours per week.
Long vacation with students schedule
Vacation adds up quickly, much out of pocket expense for health care. Dental/vision are great.
I am not entitled to benefits as a TEMP.
Health insurance is less than stellar and there is no paid maternity or paternity leave (you have to use vacation and sick time), but the 401-k matching is excellent.
TIAA-Cref has a very generous match by employer, lots of vacation time due to holidays and upfront time for exempt employees. Health Care package goes up every year and is very expensive for a family some restrictions do to faith based organization.
Health Insurance is expensive but pretty good. Will contribute to your 401k. Lots of holidays, laid back summers (usually).
21 Days Leave not including school holidays such as Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving and Federal Holidays. 10% Tiaa-Creff MONTHLY contribution. Good Health Plan - Full Tuition Reimbursement
I was only at TA and Grader. It was a semester temporary position. Benefits were not available.
Great people in academia, business and administrative staff move at snails rate.
List based on reports from current and former employees. It may not be complete.
