not until 6 months, website does not allow you to opt out so forced into plan. incompetent benefits team

  • Health Insurance(3 comments)

I honestly cannot say because I opted out of this option since I was enrolled under my parents' insurance. They did send a somewhat detailed pdf describing the different plans offered. In my opinion they were high deductible, but the information was there before you were asked to make a choice.

It is impossible to get clear information about the benefits, how to apply, what is available, any information is going to take months of networking to get a hold of. I am sure they exist though, somewhere.

Former ABA Therapist in Oak Park, Illinois

As a part time employee the only benefits you get is 3 days sick time. Even if you use these though, you have to find someone to cover your shifts. If you can't find someone to cover, the session is canceled. The manager will rarely try to help you find coverage. CARD also offers ABA Training but their training but if you want to become a Registered Behavioral Therapist they will not help you with this. They only sponsor CARD specific training and if you go high enough they'll also sponsor a masters degree. It should be noted that ABA Therapist training is comprised of watching videos, taking small quizzes, and doing role play exercises for 2 weeks. After this you have to do a certain amount of field practice with other therapists but I wasn't told what was expected of me until the end and once I was told I only had a could of practice sessions left. The training therapists are great at debriefing and giving feedback but they have a list to check your progress that trainees are seemingly not allowed to see. At the end you have a final evaluation and if you pass you get a schedule.

Accrue sick leave throughout year but only allowed to use up to 24 hours total of sick time. Only qualify for health benefits if you work 35 hours consistently for a period of time

Former Employee

sick time is accrued but only able to use 24 hours a year. You need to know company policy for yourself forwards and backwards when it comes to sick time, RTFO, and paid days off. As it is sometimes a back and forth headache to use even sick time (unethical). They bully you into thinking you can't use your time off.
