    Can accrue both sick and annual leave, but annual income is only for a 10 month period.

    You have sick days, but you get treated like dirt if you use them. There is no vacation and teachers are usually required to go in to work on snow days when school's closed.

    There wasn't a good substitute system in place for when time off was needed. If a teacher was sick, they were expected to find their own substitute, which can be very difficult when ill. There was a general distrust of teachers, and they were expected to sign in and sign out every day at work.
