This review is in regards to the benefits provided to a contract employee. Chevron often hires people on a contract basis, supposedly for a 3-6 month trial period, though in many cases this period goes on much longer, even if you are receive great reviews. You are compensated with a higher hourly rate, but you do not get share in the great benefits that "real" Chevron employees get to take part of. In my case, I was repeatedly told that my managers would put steps in place to get me hired as a Chevron employee, though that ultimately did not happen in the 2.5 years I worked there. Having said that, the company could have changed its policy since then and is overall, a good place to work.
