The company provides short-term disability for this need. You have to use one week of vacation (PTO) before a 60% salary kicks in. I found this to be inadequate and wasn't able to really take much time off when my child was born (I'm the father ... not mom).
4 weeks of time off, wish it was a bit ore but it helps a lot.
Use PTO accrual paired with LTD or STD - FMLA coverage for job.
Most staff that I have seen on maternity leave, have left for three months.
I had a different job that gave 6 no of PAID maternity leave. (Separate from vacation and sick time).... So... As a woman who had that at one time...this employer cannot compare.
It's FMLA leave. You can use paid leave if you have any. Then its unpaid. But Children's also gives you a gift certificate for prepared meals so new parents don't have to worry about fixing meals right away. It's a thoughtful benefit.
Its the standard as any other corporation in Texas
Con: FMLA is unpaid if you do not have PTO hours.
