Great EPO plan, it's like PPO access with HMO fees.
health insurance and retirement. Not very generous PTO
good hmo and paid time off
Retirement 401k not as good
Health/dental coverage is significantly more expensive than other hospitals. Only 3% match to 401k (for comparison, this is 10% at USC and 8% at UCLA). Bare minimum holidays.
Paid time off is good
healthcare is great options for low price, however insurance doesn't kick in till about 2 months. they say 1 month but its till the end of the month you were hired and then an additional 1 month.
If you are exempt, you earn vacation fast. The health and dental insurance is great (PPO). Bare minimum holidays and only 3% match for 401k.
Benefits are decent, all the basics are there. They are not as competitive or affordable as private, for-profit hospitals. Most people work at CHLA because they love it and it's worth it, even if the benefits aren't quite as good as other hospitals.
There are more health plan options than previous years, but the prices keep incrementally rising. There are no pensions--not-for-profit & non-union.
