Work life balance, crazy amount of vacation time, excellent starting rate. Work life balance, crazy amount of vacation time, excellent starting rate.
401k matching kind of low. Holiday/PTO is good (25 days starting, after 5 years up to 30 days), but other hospitals are now exceeding it. Work from home options are tough to negotiate.
Need to be very specific on the health care you choose. Helpful to attend benefits enrollment open sessions. Very informative.
Greater and at least relatively better considering benefits such as perks, health insurance, vacation and time off
Summary: Good: The pension plan is gone replaced with a 403b 3% contribution, they also match up to 3% with a 6% contribution. Healthcare plan is all right, you get $45 per paycheck back if you do a health screening(~$90 for basic single avg paycheck). 25 days PPO before 5 years, 30 days after 5 but sick/personal/maternal all lumped together up to 50 days max storable. You can sell those hours. Flex time and 2 AWA days if requested to work from home. Bad:Maternity and paternity leave are non-existent. They require following FMLA with no paid leave so you get up to 12 weeks of NON paid leave that you can use your PPO days(1 year minimum). Only 7 holidays and any time off/sick/personal is lumped into your PPO days so you can end up using it very quickly just by taking standard days off. Also the Roberts building is inconvenient to CHOP main campus so lack of any affordable food in building.
Health insurance is a good price with plenty of options. Lots of benefits geared towards everyday-living expenses, such as pre-tax transportation items.
The prices of the benefits package keep rising every year with more restrictive coverage and push seems to be for high deductible plans.
Good coverage, low contribution. Five weeks of paid time off a year which starts in the first year. Free long term disability insurance.
Pretty good health, dental, and retirement benefits
