The benefits are awesome and very reasonable!
No pension plan at City
Best thing? They offer something. Worse thing? its awesome- high deductible and if you add a dependent, there goes your whole check! 401K- match only 50% to to 3% PTO- 5 days after a year! No real perk here and they will tell you up front that its not the best.
Insurance with high deductible, and optional life and dental insurance. Paid vacation after 1st year and increment of 1 day each year starting with 10 days
The benefits are not competitive with the market. $200 to cover yourself on their best option turns into $600 monthly for adding even a single dependent.
They match 1/2% up to 6% of your contribution in 401k . There Healthcare is just ok. Vacation earning is slow. After one year pro rated you get 5 days off paid. New employees work to hard along others to inventory the stores once per year , but do not share in the bonus’s until after first year. Often Saturday work is required because of scheduling issues etc.
Time off is use it or lose it. And calling in sick is frowned upon when sick, they expect you to come in and spread the flu...
Accommodating for personal time off for family needs. Hi-tech benefits package, it is not.
Profit sharing bonus and vacation time is a plus. 401k is average, health insurance is below average for a company of this size.
401K Does have a match, it's new for them as a concept, so I imagine it will grow as they further expand. The insurance isn't amazing, but hey its the US. No insurance is amazing. Quit smoking. There, you have better insurance. People knock the paycheck, but forget or mitigate the vehicle bonuses and sometimes the financial ones. This is a company that truly lets you work to you potential. The sky is really the limit, and investing in yourself as an employee and hard worker is important. Put your ego in the drawer, and recognize this is a great compromise from Big biz where you are just a number, and union where you are just a fish in the sea of other fish. They value you and others long term. This is a huge time in the company, if you can get in now, do so.
