Competitive and convenient medical, dental, vision insurance. Wellness incentives to help keep costs down. Pension plan. Discounts and convenient payment plans through payroll deduction.
The City of Fort Worth has great wellness, medical, dental, and vision benefits along with wellness incentives and pension benefits.
You must complete a physical and other requirements each year to remain covered by insurance.
Expensive, and you cannot add elderly parents.
Health care is expensive for a family. Cheaper for spouses to be separated in insurance than together.
Overall the benefits offered (time off, retirement) are pretty good, but the insurance offerings could be improved.

The City currently contributes 19.64% for general employees. Medical has gotten less ideal over the years, but it seems that's the trend with most places. Most claims come from children and/or spouses. So, premiums are going up due to sick family members.
