Benefits were good. As a part time employee you received a retirement plan, and vacation time. Once halftime the benefits increased and you received holiday pay, sick time and a dental and health plan.
We get refillable CPTO hours (up to 48), but can only use them on days that we are scheduled to work but take off for various reasons (illness, vacation, appointments, etc.) Part-time employees receive almost no other benefits (no health insurance, no overtime pay, limited work hours) and it is hard to move up to half-time to receive such benefits.
There is no benefit package for seasonal or temporary positions at the city of los angeles department of recreation and parks.
I only work half-time but get a full health care coverage, which is awesome
