48 employees reported this benefit
Free dental cleaning were reduced from 4 times a year to twice a year. Coverage is constantly changing. You didn't have to have referrals for everything before but now you have to have it for every little thing or they won't pay out as much.
Large co payments and you have to get referrals
Cost has increased and deducatables, but they pay well and cocer most things depending on what plans you choose. Medical, Dental and Vision are combined.
Health insurance for support staff is expensive. The lowest-cost HMO plans provide poor services.
Referral is needed for EVERYTHING!!
Teachers Health Trust is the worst insurance I've ever had. It's horribly mismanaged and they are constantly making mistakes, often leaving employees with having to deal with the aftermath such as unpaid bills.
The employee payments per paycheck are very high
The Teachers Health Trust has been one of the best health insurance providers I have seen.
The health insurance is considered by many to be very poor. There are simply much better health plans out there that are better than the teacher's health plan. I've heard the teacher's health plan has had financial problems and that some doctors don't get paid for much too long after they submit a claim. Some doctors will not even accept your teacher's medical insurance. They just don't want anything to do with it.
the health insurance is spectacular and if you feel like paying more you get treated like a king or queen. covers the whole family as well for a tiny bit more, tax payer funded of course.
