It accumulates at an incredible rate, something like 24 hours per 80 hours worked and accumulates faster with seniority. I would give this program 5 stars, but unfortunately they do the "PTO" style, so there's no sick time vs vacation time, or anything like that. It's just "PTO". If that's all I have to complain about, I guess I'm just spoiled here.
Everything comes out of PTO which isn't enough to save up for a vacation
Is easily earned but is used up quickly
28 days for the first 5 years, but employees are required to take PTO for 6 holidays. The remaining 22 days can be used as desired. There are no sick days, so employees must take PTO when they are sick.
Starting they give you 17 days off to do with what you please plus 6 paid holidays
Good vacation and paid time off
Only 2 weeks vacation to start and you can earn more the longer you've been there (5 years, 10 years, etc.). But the good thing is at the time I was there, you could carry unused vacation over year to year. So was possible to save up. Not very many holidays off because it's a hospital. Jut the main ones.
good amount of PTO accrual
I have to use PTO on holidays that do not fall under my religion and also have to use those vacation days on my holidays. My supervisor gave me no other options
There are times that they can deny giving vacation or paid time off based on staffing. If you work in a department with low number of employees to begin with, it can be hard.
