Only start with 2 weeks with ability to buy an extra week
2 weeks to begin with
Competitive Vacation package and option to purchase Vacation days.
Paid vacation, good health benefits and work life balance
Hourly gets PTO-paid time off, salary does not. If you take off and don't have days, you make up your time. Salary gets two weeks, unless you have many years of service. You can buy vacation, but that is you taking money from your own paycheck, to pay yourself to take vacation.
Pros: Good vacation package Cons: should be more flexible with working from home policy
New employees start out with between zero and two weeks for the first year. This is dependent on how far into the calendar year your start date is. Years 2-5: 10 days vacation per year. At 5 years, 15 days per year. At 10 years, 20 days per year. Colgate-Palmolive also has an unusual vacation buy program that allows employees to buy up to an extra 5 days of vacation every year. Your paycheck is just reduced by the commensurate amount every pay period. The same program also allows you to sell up to 5 days of vacation back to the company every year, with the corresponding bump in pay. I don't believe to many people utilize the program in that way though.
You don't get any as an intern.
