If you make it 30 years, you may be able to retire. More than likely you wont make it!! You have a higher chance as a woman these days just looking at the H/R data.
Excellent retirement benefits through COPERA
The worst part of the benefit package was the yearly changes to medical policy.
Insurance packages are fair, leave time is adequate. Difficult to schedule time with 401k rep. Many perks are not available to those at main office location.
I did not use the benefit package. I did not use the benefit package. I do know they offer health, dental and life insurance.
The state has great benefits, pay and time off. There is no argument about that for sure! I will miss the very cheap health insurance!
The benefits offered at CDHS are similar to those offered at all state agencies. They offer healthcare (which is reasonably priced for staff), dental, vision, flex, HSA, life insurance at 50k, and short-term disability. They do have options for long-term disability but this is covered exclusively by the employee as desired (though it is reasonably priced). Depending on where you working within CDHS, parking may be an issue since the Department does not reimburse for parking expenses if you work downtown. They do offer eco-passes and the price of this fluctuates each year depending on how many staff enroll.
