Low payment each month. Good insurance policy.
It's costly, but the insurance is good.

Is a good health care plan
Good coverage through United Healthcare, unfortunately they let United dictate costs too much. For an organization as large as Columbia, one might have expected better negotiations and ability to control costs internally.
Health Insurance is expensive. I ended up paying a lot of money out-of-pocket, because certain labs don't take the Columbia insurance.
When I first started you could choose between United, Cigna, and Aetna. Then they limited it to only United and the cost keeps going up every year. Still cheaper and more coverage than any other job I could get outside of higher ed.
I did not use the health insurance so had no idea about it. But overall don't expect too much of benefits as a postdoc.
excellent coverage for the family
It's over-priced for what you get.
