Only allowed 6-sick days a year. God forbid....someone really got sick!

Compass High School offers good health insurance (BCBS), and last I heard, was considering adding dental as well. Most employees are hourly, so things like paid time off doesn't happen. Since this is a school and thus has several small vacations, prepare to have a few weeks without pay.

The man-child running the school will guarantee a very high bonus at the end of the year in the interview which never materializes. This is also true of the pay. Whatever he promises you, it's different on your acceptance letter only stating the weekly pay. What they don't explain is that the weekly pay must be multiplied by 52-weeks to come up with their yearly pay. And it won't match what they guarantee you in the interview. I was shorted over $6,000.00. The insurance package is very expensive. They don't pay a portion of it. I paid close to $700.00 for myself and one child. They spin the school breaks as getting paid and that the job is year-round. However, during Christmas break, they don't pay for the holidays. They don't offer a 401-K or any type of retirement fund.

The Christmas dinner was catered by the culinary students and had the most amazing steak ever! When I first started, teachers would get free food from the cafeteria, but they later took that away.
