PERS Retirement is outstanding! You can continue to receive up to 75% of your income during retirement. And the county pays 100% of the contribution. Health insurance is really good, but dependent coverage is expensive, especially for spouse coverage (but cheaper than buying private health insurance). Vacation and sick leave is very generous (8 hours of vacation leave and 10 hours of sick leave per month for new employees).

The worst thing about the benefits package is the exorbitant cost of health insurance. Insurance is expensive overall but the cost is above average with the county.
