Compared to my spouses coverage the Covance package is more expensive unless you participate in the discount programs. This requires anyone covered to participate.

Since being purchased by LabCorp, we have lost our local HMO's. We are not located in a primary LabCorp area, so health insurance is more expensive - both premiums & out of pocket costs. You can no longer have your labs done right at your doctor's office. You have to take in paper copies of your labs to a Lab Corp center (which is onsite at Covance) to have your blood drawn. Then they fax the results to your doctor's office. The doctor's office then has to manually input them into your records. It used to take 2-3 days for me to see my lab results. Now it takes 2-3 weeks.

Good medical coverage which is pretty standard to competing companies in the area. Free lab testing at Labcorp.

High deductibles and high bi-weekly paycheck contributions. HRA account is a nice feature.
