I was not on Crane's payroll long enough to really benefit from the 401 k plan. So when I left I was only taking my money that I put in the account.
They have a matching program but the total matching amount isn't a ton if you are a big saver.
The direct matching timed with your own deposits is 50% matching of your first 6%. So you put in 6% and they put in 3%. Another 3% is deposited around the end of Q2 of the following year if you were employed for the full previous calendar year. Time spent as a contract worker (if applicable) does not count. If it were not for the delay of that additional 3% deposit, this would be an average benefit in the industry. 2 stars.
Crane continues to delay company contributions non-match part of 401K. (i.e. the previous year non-match part is not deposited until March or after, and is spread over monthly pay periods making company non-match contributions over 1 yr. delayed. IMO....shouldn't even be legal.
The 401K has a good offering of funds and has performed well
