In addition to a competitive salary, Crawford offers you:
Cost increases every year. You are not eligible for medical benefits if your spouse has the option of medical benefits at their company.
The best benefit about Crawford and Company would be the tuition reimbursement. The worst thing would be the 2 weeks vacation for new employees which makes it hard to plan time off with family and still have days to cover unexpected time off. You don't see an increase in PTO until being with the company for FIVE years! After the five year mark you only get an additional week. You don't see 4 weeks until your with the company for 15 years or more. Which is unheard of. Lastly the company does not give bonuses. You get a $50 gift card around the holidays that's it.
The medical is OK. Vacation policy is a little dated with 2 weeks to start but lots of 'sick leave.' This should change to a paid-time-off (PTO) pool. The worse is the retirement, which is a 3 percent match on top of your 6 percent contribution, vested after 2 years. Retirement sucks and sends the message that Crawford wants to use you and lose you rather than have long-term employees.
Average benefits package. Medical for family was high
Nothing special about the benefit package as it is your standard run of the mill.
Health insurance cost is high! Pay is bellow average
Huge deductible for families. Only offset is a company contribution for HSA. Need to go back to the old HMO model with co-pays only and stop using Obamacare as the excuse for having enforce the massive deductibles on employees. Many other companies do not have these deductibles.
401k match is low - full medical package - preventative health incentive up to $750
Decent variety of benefit offerings.. costs keep going up every year, which isn't really a surprise with our aging population, but the high deductibles are expensive - need a PPO option
The best thing about Crawford & Co Benefits will be the 401k and tuition reimbursement
