We all have laptops and VPNs, but no one has ever been given the remote work privilege except as a temporary accomodation. Houston employees had to drive to work on broken roads less than a week after Harvey. A manager actually tried to make employees drive into work the Friday before Harvey hit despite every school district in the city canceling classes, making it difficult for employees to evacuate and plan for the storm. This was reported to HR, but none of the managers were disciplined or addressed.

This shouldn't be listed as a benefit because no one works from home unless there's a problem with the office itself. Remote work would be very possible since every employee receives a laptop and VPN. Some jobs require absolutely no face-to-face work. It would improve morale. HR, if you're reading this, please move to allow employees work-from-home-time.

Very possible since every employee receives a laptop and VPN. However it is strongly discouraged.

VPN is sluggish, managers do not support working from home even though it is allowed.

They used to offer remote work which is easy to do. But apparently, some people ruined it by abusing the privilege.
